Capital Federal

Our very own Peter Gierer was Project Manager for the renovation of the Capitol Federal Savings Bank in Downtown Topeka, Kansas. It was unique and challenging. All nine floors of the 110,000 SF Building were renovated and the entire exterior of the building was re-clad while the building remained occupied and fully functioning. This feat was accomplished by establishing a collaborative, cooperative team of Designers, Contractors and Owner. One floor was completed at a time that not only accommodated the Contractor's schedule but also the complex schedule of the Owner.

The scope of the project included asbestos structural fireproofing abatement, demolition of all partitions and finishes, installation of new finishes, installation of a new HVAC system and providing new electrical and data distribution systems. Elevators were refurbished during this process. The exterior of the building received new glazing as well as stone veneer.
